    Saturday 13th March, 2010
    (IANS)

A storm in Madagascar left 14 people dead, 27,000 homeless and thousands of houses damaged after ravaging the tropical island, national television reported Saturday.

The region around the town of Mananjary was hit the hardest Friday, the report said.

A quarter of the town was flooded and electricity and water supplies were disrupted, local authorities said.

Blocked and flooded roads were hampering relief efforts, officials said.
